More Poop Stories

Saturday, February 7, 2009

Ellie has another earache.  Bring on the pink stuff again.  The first time Ellie was on Amoxicillin, she couldn't control her bowels.  Every time she exerted her self to the smallest degree she would toot and out came the poop.  The second time she was on the pink stuff, no pooping.

So this is the third time in her short life.  It started out great.  We got the stuff in the morning and Marci gave it to her right away.  I got home from school, Marci went to work, Ellie woke up and ate.

Enter one of the worst stenches ever to burn my nose hairs.

So round number three with amoxicillin results in horrible diarrhea while with dad.  About 2 hours later, same stench, same mess.  So I'm thinking "I can't wait for Marci to get home so she can experience this disgusting side affect that Ellie is experiencing, and so I don't have to change any more of these horribly messy diapers."

Ellie hasn't pooped again since and it's been 3 days.  She's probably waiting for Mom to go to work on Monday so she can laugh at Dad as she tries to roll over while he's changing her disgusting diaper.

Changing Diapers

Thursday, November 13, 2008

I hear a lot of guys say that they will never change a diaper. I've also heard of husbands making a deal with their wife that they will never have to change a diaper. Ridiculous. That deal will never last.

In my opinion, it's easy. It only takes like 1 minute. It's especially easy with Ellie since she only poops like once every 2 weeks (I know, not normal, but she doesn't seem to mind). So a pee pee diaper is a cinch. Hardly any clean up, she a girl so I never get peed on (although Marci has been peed on twice), and it only takes 30 seconds.

Now, only pooping once every 2 weeks has its down sides. A regular poopy is normal sized. Still messy, and often gets on the baby's clothes, but normal. A poop that has been building up for 2 weeks, now that is an interesting experience. One word to describe 2 weeks of poop coming out of baby's butt all at once = overwhelming.

There's just no way to prepare for it. For more details about Ellie's last 2 week poop see Marci's blog post at http://ballroomandbiscotti.blogspot.com/2008/10/cause-to-celebrate.html

Conclusion: Don't be afraid to change a diaper unless the baby hasn't pooped for an extended period of time.
